Special menus are not generally offered on European flights in SWISS Economy. However, the SWISS Saveurs menu does offer you an extensive range of products, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free options.
On intercontinental flights, special menus must be pre-ordered directly when booking the flight ticket. Any later orders can only be placed via the booking manager "Manage my booking" or SWISS customer service. If you have pre-ordered a special menu and a regular dish as well via the pre-order option, you will always receive the special menu instead of the regular dish.
There are a number of reasons why pre-ordering for individual flights are not possible. The most common are:
Your flight is not operated by SWISS or the partner airlines Helvetic Airlines, Air Baltic and Edelweiss with an LX flight number.
For some flights to destinations such as Tel Aviv, pre-orderings are not possible in some classes.
Pre-ordering is only possible during a certain period of time. For SWISS Economy European flights, this is between six weeks and 12 hours before departure (depending on the flight), for SWISS First and SWISS Business flights between six weeks and 24 hours before departure.
The maximum load quantity has already been reached on a flight, so no further products can be ordered.
