FAQ

You can find explanations on all important topics concerning preordering food here.
You can easily find out whether pre-ordering is possible on your flight by entering your name and PNR (booking reference) or ticket number on this website.

You can use the pre-order option on most European flights with a flight time of more than one hour, and thus benefit from either a 10% discount in SWISS Economy or a free larger selection of main meals in SWISS Business. Certain flights are excluded from this option for operational reasons.

On intercontinental flights departing from Switzerland, you can pre-select your main course from an extended menu before the flight in SWISS First and Business.
Fresh products from the SWISS Saveurs menu can be pre-ordered on European flights in SWISS Economy. Drinks and pre-packed snacks (e.g. muesli bars) cannot be pre-ordered but can be purchased directly on board.

On European and intercontinental flights in SWISS Business and in SWISS First, you can pre-select your main course of the (first) service in advance, which will be served with additional menu components. You benefit from a greater selection of up to nine dishes.
Depending on the flight, you can pre-order the preferred products for your SWISS Economy European flight from six weeks and up to 12 hours before departure.

In SWISS First and SWISS Business you can pre-select your meal up to 24 hours before departure.
To view your flights, please enter your first name, surname, booking code or ticket number. You can then select from the available products for the flights on which this option is available.
In SWISS Economy you can pre-order up to five products on European flights.

In SWISS First and Business, you can pre-select a hot main meal for the first service on board.
In SWISS Economy, you can pre-order up to five products on European flights to share with your travel companions on board. In SWISS First and Business, the main meal must be pre-selected individually for all travellers.
You will receive a confirmation by email. You do not have to take it on board with you.
You will receive your products during the regular service on board your flight.
You can purchase additional products on board, such as drinks, together with your pre-ordered products in order to benefit from the offers on the menu. The corresponding discounts are automatically deducted at the time of payment.
Payments are processed on board during the in-flight service. Contactless payment is only possible with Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, Maestro, Apple and Google Pay. Cash payments are not possible.
Your chosen main meal in SWISS First and Business and the pre-selection are free of charge.

Special menus are not generally offered on European flights in SWISS Economy. However, the SWISS Saveurs menu does offer you an extensive range of products, including vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and lactose-free options.

On intercontinental flights, special menus must be pre-ordered directly when booking the flight ticket. Any later orders can only be placed via the booking manager "Manage my booking" or SWISS customer service. If you have pre-ordered a special menu and a regular dish as well via the pre-order option, you will always receive the special menu instead of the regular dish.

There are a number of reasons why pre-ordering for individual flights are not possible. The most common are:

  • Your flight is not operated by SWISS or the partner airlines Helvetic Airlines, Air Baltic and Edelweiss with an LX flight number.

  • For some flights to destinations such as Tel Aviv, pre-orderings are not possible in some classes.

  • Pre-ordering is only possible during a certain period of time. For SWISS Economy European flights, this is between six weeks and 12 hours before departure (depending on the flight), for SWISS First and SWISS Business flights between six weeks and 24 hours before departure.

  • The maximum load quantity has already been reached on a flight, so no further products can be ordered.

Yes. In SWISS Economy you can still purchase numerous products on board, subject to their availability. However, we recommend that you pre-order your favourite meal in advance and benefit from a 10% discount.

There is a regular meal service in SWISS Business, but we recommend pre-selecting your meal to benefit from a larger choice.
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that you will receive the products you originally pre-selected if you rebook your flight. On European flights in SWISS Economy, you can continue to purchase products directly on board (subject to availability). On European and intercontinental flights in SWISS Business, you can select a main course on board subject to availability.
Depending on the flight, you can cancel your old pre-selection no later than 12 hours (SWISS Economy Europe) and 24 hours (SWISS First and Business) before departure and pre-select for your new flight.
